Steve Griggs is a Seattle jazz saxophonist who recorded with drummer Elvin Jones and featured solos on the Halo 3: ODST video game soundtrack.
His musical arrangement of "Moonlight" by Henry Wordsworth Longfellow won a Longfellow Chorus Award of Distinction in the 2010 Composition Competition. His ensemble won the Chamber Music America / ASCAP award for Adventurous Programming of Contemporary Music in 2013 and 2015.
Steve earned a Bachelor of Music Arts in Saxophone Performance from the University of Illinois, a Masters of Business Administration from Pace University, and Certificates of Arts Management and Narrative Nonfiction from the University of Washington.
Steve was the President of the Friends of the Seattle Public Library and has served on the boards of Puget Sound Community School and Spruce Street School. He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Arrangers, and Publishers (ASCAP), Chamber Music America (CMA), Jazz Journalists Association, and Earshot Jazz.
